Thornton Auto-Care

Competition is a challenging word in the Kingdom. I was advised as a business owner that competition was one of the major factors that I had to be aware of. For awhile, I only viewed my competition through a carnal lens. I figured the other shops in the area are competing for customers and that I would be joining that arena. But it just didn't sound right. This business isn't at all like the others, even though it may look the same on the surface, the spiritual bones of this automotive shop are alive and eager to transform lives.

So what does it look like for this shop to step into the arena with other shops? Well, what did it look like for Jesus to walk into the temple and teach? He set a standard, revealed truth, showed the Fathers heart to the scribes and pharisees. Now the scribes, pharisees, and Sadducee were professionals in the scriptures at the time, but had fallen so deep into legalism that they couldn't recognize the purpose for the law God had given them. I think that this can be used as an example of what is going on in the automotive industry, as well as many other industries in the world today.

 

Why does the city need to be on a hill? Why does the lamp need to be put on a stand? As ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven, it is our responsibility to show the world a better way. Christ came as the Light of the world, when He went back to the Father, that responsibility was given to those who believe. I have been enlisted in this war. I have began running this race. I have a duty to perform, and a mission to accomplish.

Competition? If you think that the kingdom of heaven can be accurately shown to the automotive industry by just one shop, think again. I'm coming for my competition, not to destroy but to enlist in the fight for the right kingdom. I'm coming for this industry, not I, but Christ in me, coming with His transformation power, resurrecting hearts and minds to strive for life and light. If your in the automotive industry and you are reading this, Jesus has called you to more, He has called you to fix whats actually broken, and to serve who actually matters.
